Well Dressing’, or as it was once known ‘Well Flowering’ is one of the oldest and best known customs in Derbyshire.

Well Dressing’, or as it was once known ‘Well Flowering’ is one of the oldest and best known customs in Derbyshire. It celebrates the gift of water, by decorating clay filled wooden panels with flower petals, seeds and almost any available natural materials.

The Blessing is at 2.30 on Sunday 30th June on The Jodrel Arms car park

This years theme is the 80th anniversary of the D Day landings

Well Dressing in the making can be seen on Monday 24th June - Friday 28th June in the garage underneath the Mechanics Institute,

Whaley Bridge is located just south of the A6 between Buxton and Stockport.
