Nowt run of the mill about New Mills Festival's musical line up this September!
New Mills Festival has always offered an eclectic musical mix and this September the two week Festival has surpassed itself, throwing a musical party with something for everyone. The line up includes West End and Broadway Classics, Choral music, Jazz and Blues, Song and Dance of Southern Africa, a String and Wind performance as well as regular, well loved local folk and ska acts.
The Meliora Collective are a group of five wind players and five string players all recent graduates of prestigious institutions including the Northern College of Music and Royal Academy of Music. Their mix of lively and unusual arrangements on both popular and new chamber music is coming to the Spring Bank Arts Centre Sunday 18 September 2:30 to 4:30. Tickets £12 please see our website.

New Mills can be reached by road via the Stockport to Buxton road (A6), turning off onto the A6015 at Newtown where it is signposted (brown signs) and also from the direction of Chinley (B6062), Marple (B6101) and Hayfield (A6015). Situated very close to the bus station in the town centre. Central railway station (on the Manchester-Sheffield line) is 200 yards from the Centre, and the station at Newtown (on the Manchester-Buxton line) is about 20 minutes walk. Buses to New Mills bus station are the 358 (Hayfield - Stockport) and 361 (Glossop - Stockport). Routes 199 (Buxton-Stockport-Manchester Airport) and Trans Peak (Nottingham-Manchester) pass through Newtown on the A6
