The Garden of Imagination returns to the Walled Kitchen Garden for another fun filled adventure, where children can run wild and play to their heart's content.
Ready for an adventure? Alongside your favourite play elements, head for the special summer pavilion of play – a world of lofty lookouts, giant ear trumpets and periscopes – developed by Wild Rumpus and new for this year.
Enjoy until the end of the Summer holidays. Use the look-out point to survey your surroundings, find out what it really means to get close to nature. Listen out for nearby wildlife, get a new perspective of Calke or invent your own way to play.
The Food and Beverage Team will also be playing in the garden, so you can relax under the star tent with a nice ice cream after using up all that energy.
Meeting point: The Garden of Imagination can be found in the large kitchen garden.
What to bring and wear: Come dressed in your fun, adventure clothing – remember you may be running through long grass. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, lots of energy and imagination.
Accessibility: There is a buggy that can bring visitors up to the gardens. On the whole the area is flat, but there is a combination of short and long grass throughout the area.
Note: The Garden of Imagination is aimed at primary school aged children and younger, although there are elements that is sure to appeal to all ages. Children to be supervised at all times.
Booking not needed, just turn up.
This event is free, but normal admission charges apply to access the Calke Abbey estate. National Trust Members go free.
