Derbyshire Open Arts 28th & 29th May 2022
10am – 5pm Daily
Now in its 16th year, Derbyshire Open Arts continues to showcase the fantastic wealth of artistic talent to be found across the county. This year the free annual event has 218 participating artists exhibiting at 64 venues and takes place over the weekend of 28th – 29th of May.
Derbyshire Open Arts aims to make people aware of the vast range of arts and crafts now being created in Derbyshire and offers the chance for members of the public to visit artists' studios and other venues. It provides the opportunity to explore the lovely county of Derbyshire, from Glossop in the north to Melbourne in the south, and to discover artists practising a range of skills such as printmaking, painting, drawing, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, metalwork, woodwork, sculpture and many more.
Many artists exhibiting from their own studios or in groups can show people where and how they make their work, offering an interesting and unique insight into the artwork they see. Artists enjoy talking to visitors about their work and many visitors comment on this engagement as being one of the best features of the Derbyshire Open Arts experience.
To explore the many different types of artwork and venues, visit our website www.derbyshireopenarts.co.uk on your phone or tablet and try one of the many searches you can make to find which artist does what, where they are and how to get there. You can use our Google route planner to plan your own trail using artist's postcodes or download one of the many art trail maps drawn by the artists.
Leaflets which contain a QR code allowing you to download the brochure directly onto your phone or tablet, will be available in many places across Derbyshire and the brochure can also be viewed on our website home page.
