About
Sharpe’s Pottery Museum is nestled in the market town of Swadlincote at the heart of South Derbyshire and The National Forest.
Come and visit our unique grade two listed building where you will discover stories of Sharpe’s family history, and the significant changes from 19th century deep coal and opencast mining, clay extraction and associated industrial activity, to a 21st century sustainable landscape led by the creation of The National Forest.
We have lots of interesting and entertaining exhibits to explore, along with fun things to do when you and your family come to visit Sharpe’s Pottery Museum

Road Directions
From the M42 leave at Junction 11 following the A444 towards Burton-on-Trent. Follow signs for Swadlincote - turning right at the roundabout at Cadley Hill. Continue to next traffic island & turn right - signed Church Gresley - Hearthcote Road & proceed for approx. 2 miles & turn right towards the Rink Industrial Estate. As the road bends to the left, Sharpe's is on the left-hand side. Follow the road around to the right & park behind Sharpe's in the public car park.From the A50 leave at Junction 3 signed Swadlincote.Take the A514 (signed Melbourne & Swadlincote). Continue on the A514 through Ticknall & Hartshone, following signs for Swadlincote. Continue on the A514 over the A511 roundabout still following signs for Swadlincote. Straight over at the mini-roundabout into Civic Way. At the large roundabout (Sainsbury's) turn left up the hill & then left into West Street. Sharpe's is on the lefthand side when the road bends to the right. Park behind Sharpe's in the public car park.Accessible by Public Transport: Burton upon Trent station is 7 miles away.
