A former 'yellow ware' and toilet factory (established in 1821), which exported its products worldwide. The visitor centre housed in the newly restored pottery works in the South Derbyshire town of Swadlincote at the heart of The National Forest, is a registered museum with exhibits and displays and the latest in interactive technology, which reveals the hidden treasures and fascinating facts behind a South Derbyshire pottery.There is a cafe & Gift Shop. School parties are welcome & the kiln holds a number of concert evenings.

From the M42 leave at Junction 11 following the A444 towards Burton-on-Trent. Follow signs for Swadlincote - turning right at the roundabout at Cadley Hill. Continue to next traffic island & turn right - signed Church Gresley - Hearthcote Road & proceed for approx. 2 miles & turn right towards the Rink Industrial Estate. As the road bends to the left, Sharpe's is on the left-hand side. Follow the road around to the right & park behind Sharpe's in the public car park.From the A50 leave at Junction 3 signed Swadlincote.Take the A514 (signed Melbourne & Swadlincote). Continue on the A514 through Ticknall & Hartshone, following signs for Swadlincote. Continue on the A514 over the A511 roundabout still following signs for Swadlincote. Straight over at the mini-roundabout into Civic Way. At the large roundabout (Sainsbury's) turn left up the hill & then left into West Street. Sharpe's is on the lefthand side when the road bends to the right. Park behind Sharpe's in the public car park.Accessible by Public Transport: Burton upon Trent station is 7 miles away.
