Rother Valley Country Park

About

Rother Valley Country Park offers 750 acres of beautiful landscape to explore and enjoy. Whether you’re into outdoor activities or searching for a little bit of peace and tranquillity, we have something for you.

Our miniature railway is very popular with families with young children. Bird food is available from our on-site café. For the more active, we have a number of cycle hire options available including; single cycles, double choppers, go karts, family cycles for up to six people, and family electric cycles. We also have opportunities for mountain biking.

On the water, you can hire one of our family boats, miniport electric ships or row boats. Or have a go at water zorbing, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding sailing, and windsurfing.

For the more adventurous, Sheffield Cable waterski at the park offers wake boarding and, cable water-ski and. There is also the aqua park – the North’s biggest inflatable assault course, with huge slides, trampoline, and climbing wall. Wetsuit hire is available.

The park is home to a variety of birds and mini-beasts, and part of the park is an official nature reserve. Over 260 species of birds have been recorded at the park including; Herony, Little Egret, Buzzards, Kingfishers, spring and winter migration birds. If you’re lucky, you may spot one of our many small mammals such as voles, shrews, hare foxes.

In areas where the vegetation has been cut and allowed to rot grass snakes can sometimes be seen. The grasslands are carefully managed with grazing animals such as sheep and, if you pop into the fields near to the main entrance to the park, you can see the local farmer’s highland cattle.

Fishing is also possible in the Park’s two lakes.
