Rock Climbing Taster Session

About

Keen to try climbing on real rock but not sure where to start? Don't know a carabiner from a belay plate? We cover this and all the basics on this fun and action packed morning of outdoor rock climbing. Every life changing adventure starts with a single, small step. Maybe this is yours.

Rock Climbing is fun, safe, exciting and challenging. Climb as many routes as you can – easier, intermediate or more challenging rock climbs from 8 to 20 metres high. An individually tailored climbing session where each person can climb at a level that they find comfortable and appropriate.

NOTE - We’ve changed how we operate due to Covid-19 with your health and safety in mind. If you’ve got any questions on the steps we’ve taken, just drop us a message

### Itinerary
9:30 Arrive at The Adventure Hub

Your instructor will welcome you and discuss the aims of the course and your own aspirations over a great cup of fresh Italian coffee or tea. You will be sized up for helmets, rock shoes and harnesses. All you need do is check you have snacks, a drink and clothing that is suitable for the conditions.

9:45 Travel to climb location

The exact location will depend on the weather and the aims and abilities of the group. With the famous climbing venues of Stanage, Burbage and Froggatt to name just a few all within easy reach we will typically drive for approximately 15 minutes from the Adventure Hub. For those that are just joining the morning session on a full day course we usually ask you to drive to the venue in your own transport to enable you to get away easily at lunch time.

10.00 Practical climbing session

Your instructor will demonstrate and explain the basics of the safety system and give you a chance to practise tying in and belaying each other. You will then be shown and coached on different key climbing techniques as you scale a number of routes throughout the morning all whilst gaining confidence and experience with the rope systems.

13.00 End of session

At the end of the session the instructor will recap your session and answer any questions. At this point you are free to explore the peak district. Feel free to pick the instructors brains for suitable walks in the area.
