Road Directions
From M1 Southbound: Leave the M1 at Junction 28, signposted to Derby A38, Matlock (A632) and join the A38 towards Derby. Leave the A38 at the slip road for the A610 towards Ambergate and the A6. At the A6, turn right towards Matlock for two miles and then turn left onto the B5035 towards Wirksworth. In Wirksworth, at the T-Junction with the B5023, turn right and then left to rejoin the B5035. Continue for four miles to find Carsington Water on your left.
From the M1 Northbound: Leave the M1 at Junction 25 (signposted to Nottingham, Derby, Ilkeston A52) and join the A52 towards Derby. Travel through Derby following signs for the A52 and Ashbourne. In Asbourne, follow signs towards Buxton but before leaving the town, turn right onto the B5035 toward Carsington Water. Carsington Water is six miles from Ashbourne.
Public transport: The 411 service from Ashbourne to Matlock goes to Carsington Water. Coming from Derby, take the Trans-Peak bus to Cromford and there pick up the 411 bus.
