Pleasure Flights & Air sports
If helicopter pleasure flights are more to your taste, you can arrange that here! There is so much stunning landscape to soak up in the Peak District National Park, why not see it from the sky?
Pennine Helicopters operate pleasure flights at several points throughout the area with themed flight routes such as the Dambuster’s Run. Take the actual flight that the brave Lancaster Bomber crew flew during World War II as part of training for bombing the dams in Nazi Germany. Or, have you wondered what Chatsworth would look like from above?
But that’s helicopters, how about hanging from a hot air balloon with nothing more between you and the ground than a wicker basket? A number of pilots will take you up for the ultimate experience. Flights are at their very best either early morning or early evening, and offer the very best views too!
Maybe you’re a bit a thrill seeker though, and you’re not satisfied with sitting in a seat and letting somebody else do all of the piloting. There are a number of instructors in the area who will show you the ropes of hang gliding and paragliding, which the area has amazing conditions for.
So come on, you’ve saved on the flight by staying at home, why not give flying a go when you get here!
