Activities
There’s no end of Peak District and Derbyshire activities that you can get your teeth into - we’ve got all sorts for every type of visitor, from your keen hikers, cyclists, climbers to thrill-seeking adrenaline-junkies!
Walking and cycling are Peak District classics, but there’re also activities such as horse riding, water sports and even pleasure flights, so why not jazz up your countryside retreat and do something a little bit different?
Climbing and Caving are both extremely popular in the area with many sites on offer. One of the best-known places for rock climbing or bouldering is Stanage Edge; on the border with Derbyshire and South Yorkshire this is easily accessible from both Chesterfield and Sheffield.
There are a number of caves and caverns in Derbyshire and the Peak District, such as Speedwell, Treak Cliff, Poole’s and Peak Cavern (also known as the Devil’s Arse)! Another famous show cavern of the area is a cable car ride away, up at the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath.
