Chesterfield market is one of the biggest open-air markets in the country, selling everything from cutlery to carpets, from shirts to shoes, from pans to potatoes. Whatever you want to buy, there’s a stall selling it somewhere – it’s just a matter of finding it among all the stalls packed into the town centre.
Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays
This Victorian Market Hall was originally built in 1857 'for the shelter and safeguard of market people'. It has just undergone a multi-million pound refit and reopened at the end of October 2013.
Come and experience Chesterfield’s flea market which is fast becoming one of the largest in the country. Browse around the stalls and find yourself a bargain, or maybe a priceless antique in disguise – after all, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure!
A variety of local producers come to the Farmers’ Market. A changing range of stalls include organic vegetables, rare breed meat, fish, Derbyshire honey, homemade cakes and cheese.
