Half-term Halloween fun at Chatsworth, Bakewell

Enjoy autumnal fun and Halloween horrors at Chatsworth this half-term holiday. There's frighteningly good fun around every corner... join us if you dare! Bring your little monsters to the farmyard to meet the animals and join in with creepy crafts. If you're feeling brave, dare to ride the Halloween trailer into Warlock Wood, where we need your help battling the ghastly ghouls.


The Wizards of Once Halloween Quest at Bolsover Castle

Head to Bolsover Castle for a fantastical day out this half-term. Explore the castle on the brand-new adventure trail inspired by Cressida Cowell’s best-selling Wizards of Once series. Will you find the ingredients for the spell to get rid of Witches and uncover the location of the Cup of Second Chances?
Come along in frightful fancy dress to enter the competition and maybe win a prize!
Meanwhile from 28-31 October, daring visitors can brave the castle after dark. Take an eerie evening Ghost Tour and be guided through the darkness on a bloody, bone-chilling journey. This is not a night for the faint-hearted!


Fang-tastic Halloween Festival at Matlock Farm Park

There’s a whole host of ghoulish events at Matlock Farm Park this Halloween. Visit the super pumpkin patch and embark on the daily Spooky Trail in the Enchanted Forest with riddles galore, spot Matlock's Headless Horseman in the late afternoon as the light goes down and don't forget to wear fancy dress for the chance to win great prizes! From Wednesday 27 October to Sunday 31 October 2021, there will also be brilliant Live Fun Halloween characters to meet at set times of the day - plus a host of animal fun.


Harry Potter Halloween at Great British Car Journey, Ambergate

Wizards, witches and muggles are urged to join the Great British Car Journey for a very special Harry Potter-themed event for all the family on 31 October. A 1960 Ford Anglia 105E, which was enchanted by Ron Weasley’s father in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – is flying into Great British Car Journey to take centre stage at the event to celebrate 82 years since the very first Ford Anglia model, the E04A, was released for sale!
There will be a ‘Hedwig Hunt’ for children in the attraction’s collection of more than 130 classic cars as well as plenty of ghoulish goodies in the café and prizes throughout the day for visitors wearing Harry Potter-themed fancy dress.
The Ford Anglia 105E Owners Club will also be bringing along a selection of the classic cars and to celebrate the Ford Anglia’s 82nd birthday, family tickets (2 adults and up to 3 children) are discounted. Pre-booking is essential.


 


Halloween at The Frights of Abraham, Matlock Bath

As well as their usual exhibitions, adventure playgrounds and facilities, the Frights of Abraham returns to Masson Hill this October half-term with an enchanted witch's grotto, colourful scarecrow displays, tasty Halloween treats in the cafe and a treasure hunt to find 13 magical black cats for younger guests.


Halloween Costume Competition at Creswell Crags

It’s spooky season and trick or treating is back at Creswell Crags. If you visit the Gorge between Saturday 23 October and Sunday 21 October, wear your Halloween costume for the chance to win their annual Halloween Photo Competition! Simply take a photo at the Crags - or in the Halloween photo station set up for Halloween weekend itself - post the photo on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook before 5pm on Monday 1 November and remember to tag / mention the Crags' account and use the hashtag #CragsHalloween. Prizes (suitable for children) will be available from the Creswell Crags gift shop.


Halloween at the National Forest Adventure Farm, near Burton

Enjoy all the fun of the farm plus a day packed with spooky Halloween fun! Take the pumpkin wagon tractor ride to them pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkin, learn how to fly a broomstick, find out how to terrify your family and friends, watch the tragic magic show, head into Professor Lewey's crazy potions lab and explore the amazing mirror maze!

Weekends and October Half-term

Discover fun for the whole family at the Halloween Maize Maze on 16, 17, 23-31 October. Follow the fairy light walk, explore the haunted pathways and discover great games to play. Halloween Festival at Bluebell Dairy, Derby

Halloween Fun at the Tropical Butterfly House, Worksop

There’s some frighteningly good family fun in store for you throughout the October half term holiday at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife Conservation Park near Sheffield.
Bring your Little Monsters to brave the Monster Hunt trail and spell out a super spooky word to claim a sweet treat reward. With daily spot prizes, it doesn’t matter if you're a wicked witch or a zany zombie, dress frightfully well as staff will be on the lookout for the most diabolical fancy dress!
Can you find ‘witch’ animals are hiding a special prize pumpkin? If you are lucky enough to find one, take it along to the Jungle Gift Shop where you can exchange it for a prize! Wander through the Haunted House if you dare or follow the woodland walk to take a peek inside the Witch’s Cabin.

There's a whole host of fun Halloween events at Peak Village this half-term. On 24 October, come and meet the Spookysaurus at four 30 minute interactive walkabout sessions between 11am-3pm. On 26 October, meet the animals and get up close to creepy crawly creatures including a snake, lizard and spider from 12noon-4pm. Then on 31 October, enjoy 'Scarelock Holmes & the Other Hound of the Baskervilles' and follow the clues to help the super-sleuth crack the case of his award-winning pet pooch which has been dog-napped ahead of the annual Halloween Dog Show! Enjoy the free family fun trail, face painting and Halloween crafts for the ultimate day out.
