Spooky Bolsover Castle + Castle Ghost Tours

26th-3rd November 2019

Grab your broomsticks for a bewitchingly brilliant day out at Bolsover Castle during half term. Get hands-on with creepy crafts and a wicked witch-themed quest and come in your best witch and wizard outfits to be in with a chance of winning a prize!
Meanwhile from 26th-31st October, daring visitors can brave the castle after dark. Take an eerie evening Ghost Tour and be guided through the darkness on a bloody, bone-chilling journey. This is not a night for the faint-hearted!

Chatsworth Halloween Hoot

26th October-3rd November 2019

If you can be tempted by an array of terrible treats, evil entertainment and devilish delights then Chatsworth is the place to be this half-term. Follow the frighteningly fun trail in the house, hunt for hidden pumpkins, dare to enter the abandoned tunnel and listen to spine-tingling storytelling in the garden. In the farmyard, take a trip on the fright flight into the deep dark woods, meet reptiles and try your hand at creepy crafts!

Matlock Farm Park Spooktacular

26th October-3rd November 2019

There’s a whole host of ghoulish events at Matlock Farm Park this Halloween. Carve a pumpkin, take part in slime, potion and wand-making in the Witches & Wizards' Workshops and take part in frighteningly fun games. There are daily Treasure Hunts around the farm park (where you can get up close to furry friends) and eerie guided tours each afternoon. Will you be lucky enough to spot Matlock’s Legendary Headless Horseman?

Halloween at The Heights of Abraham

31st October-3rd November 2019

The Heights of Abraham will top off their 35-year cable car birthday celebrations with a four-day long Halloween adventure from Thursday 31st October to Sunday 3rd of November, where guests are given a treasure map full of clues and riddles and set the challenge of releasing three ghostly pirates from their 400-year-old curse. (Normal cable car ticket prices apply). There are rewards for those who succeed, as well as the opportunity to win a luxurious short family break at the award-winning Darwin Forest and a VIP trip back to the Heights in 2020!

Crich Tramway Village Starlight Spectacular

28th October-2nd November 2019

As the nights get darker, Crich Tramway Village’s annual Starlight Spectacular event will be lighting up the sky. The home of the National Tramway Museum is illuminated in lights and trams run into the early evening for a truly unique experience. Then on 31st October, Halloween descends on the recreated vintage village in style with a 'Wizards and Villains' theme and visitors can enjoy Halloween Themed shows from 4pm-6pm.

Alton Towers Scarefest

5th-6th, 12th-13th, 18th October-3rd November 2019

With spooks, frights and thrills for everyone, Alton Towers Scarefest sees the region's most popular theme park remain open until late so visitors can enjoy world-class thrills and attractions in the dark. For youngsters, there’ll be live shows and the chance to meet freaky characters, whilst older visitors will find laughs and frights aplenty in the terrifying, award-winning scare mazes.

Magical Marks and Little School of Sorcery at Haddon Hall

26th-31st October 2019

Little ones can enjoy ghastly games and activities throughout the Hall, from creating potions in the kitchen with medieval herbs collected from Haddon's gardens, to wand decorating, broom and hat making, learning spells and scroll writing.
Meanwhile on 30th and 31st October, visitors can take candelight tours to explore the spooky history behind Haddon Hall's extensive 'Witches Marks'. Experience eerie tales from the hall's 900 year history, and get the rare chance to visit the mysterious 'Death Room' which isn't normally open to the public!

Halloween Crafts at Denby Pottery Village

19th-31st October 2019

Get into the spirit of Halloween at the award-winning Denby Pottery Village, where Derbyshire clay has been used to make world-famous tableware for hundreds of years. Visit the craft studio for freakishly fun actitivies where you can make and take home your own Halloween pail using creepy craft materials. Fancy dress welcome!

Pumpkin Trail at Renishaw Hall

26th-27th October 2019

Follow the spooky clues around the beautiful Italiante gardens of Renishaw Hall to find the hidden pumpkins. Come in fancy dress if you dare! Cafe open for treats 10.30am-4pm.

Halloween Fun Day at Peak Shopping Village

27th October 2019

This Halloween at Peak Shopping Village, near Bakewell, the supernatural sleuth Scare Lock Holmes returns for brand new interactive adventure. Join in the family fun with mystery hunts, characters, fancy dress, crafts and face painting. On 31st October, go on a spooky adventure with Peepo the Parasaurolophus as he goes off into the wilds on a dark autumnal night in search of a big scary Spookysaurus!
