In Events

Home to some of the UK’s most breathaking architecture and beautiful gardens, Derbyshire and the Peak District boasts plenty of stately homes you need to visit. These special locations are made even more magical during the festive season, with a range of themed events and markets to get you in the Christmas spirit. Here's our guide to some of the best stately homes to visit in Derbyshire and the Peak District this Christmas.

Chatsworth House at Christmas

Chatsworth House

Often described as ‘the jewel in the Peak District’s crown’, Chatsworth House will be decorated for Christmas in spectacular style. Whilst Chatsworth Christmas Market (one of the country's best festive events) takes place outside, the House will be decorated for the theme 'Once upon a time...'. Inviting visitors to enter a land of make-believe, Christmas at Chatsworth (until 6th Jan 2018) will see storytellers roaming the halls as scenes from favourite fairy-tales leap off the pages. By nightfall, experience the enchanting Christmas Twilight evenings, where you can enjoy a mince pie, wine and live music while favourite childhood stories come alive around you.
