Hospitality Charter

The Peak District & Derbyshire Hospitality Charter aims to raise the profile of the hospitality industry, change perceptions of the sector and promote hospitality as a career of choice.

The Peak District & Derbyshire Hospitality Charter has been created to help dispel beliefs that those working in hospitality suffer ‘long hours for little pay’ and instead highlight the benefits of working in this vibrant and rewarding industry.

About the Peak District & Derbyshire Hospitality Charter

Established in November 2021, the Peak District & Derbyshire Hospitality Charter is an industry initiative that aims to raise the profile of the hospitality industry, boost recruitment and promote hospitality as a career of choice to parents, schools, colleges and universities.

The Charter was officially launched at Chatsworth in February 2022 and has since secured the support of over 50 progressive local businesses including pubs, hotels and restaurants, as well as local authorities, industry bodies and education providers including the University of Derby, Derby College and Chesterfield College.

Inspired by similar industry initiatives such as the People 1st Hospitality Commitment and the 2020 Hoteliers Charter, the Peak District & Derbyshire Hospitality Charter aims to provide a long-term solution to the ongoing hospitality recruitment crisis which has been worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic.
