AboutAn attractive little estate village near the Staffordshire - Derbyshire border at the river Dove.
Snelston is built around the Gothic style Hall of which little remains apart from the former stable block and parkland. The cottages are an intriguing mix of styles, some half-timbered or of brick, making a very picturesque scene.
Things to do; Just 3 miles southwest of Ashbourne, the area is renowned for good fishing on the nearby river Dove. Pleasant walks lead along good paths into the surrounding area. Out of the village there is fine old inn but there are no other visitor facilities. See Ashbourne.
