AboutEndon is unusual in that, until very recently, it was the only place in Staffordshire to continue with the ancient custom of well-dressing that is so common in neighbouring Derbyshire.
The ceremony takes place during the Spring Bank Holiday in late May and includes the coronation of a 'Well-Dressing Queen'. The Caldon Canal runs through the 'old Village' of Endon, along which peaceful canalside pubs can be found.
