About
In the green rolling countryside south of Ashbourne, this is a quiet, peaceful spot.Five miles south of Ashbourne are Great and Little Cubley, just a short distance apart. Both are small, peaceful places now, but have a long history. St Andrew's church dates from the 12th Century and has many fine monuments to the Montgomery family, who were Lords of the manor here for four centuries. Situated on the old Roman road known as Long Lane, a mile to the east is the beautiful Bentley Hall, dating from Elizabethan times
(not open to the public).
Things to do; Handily placed midway between Ashbourne, Uttoxeter and Derby with Alton Towers a short drive away. There is a pub in the village called the Howard Arms.
