AboutClowne (pronounced as Clown) is a village and civil parish in the Bolsover district of Derbyshire, England. It forms part of the Bolsover constituency.
The name is derived from the Celtic Clun for a river
The village is surrounded by rolling farmland, mostly arable and is close to Creswell Crags, the UK's only verified example of Paleolithic cave art.

Leave M1 at junction 30 and take A616 (signposted Worksop). At roundabout take 1st exit (A619 signposted Worksop). Follow road for approx mile and, at roundabout (De Rodes Arms), take 2nd exit (A619). Follow road for approx 1 mile and, at crossroads, turn right. Follow road for approx ½ mile and, at cross roads, go straight on (B6417). Follow road to roundabout and take 2nd exit. Follow Road to Mill Street and on to High Street.
From East Follow A617 to M1 motorway junction and take 4th exit (M1 north). Leave M1 at next junction (30) and follow route from North/South.
Follow A619 to Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and, at traffic lights, go straight on. Select right hand lane and at roundabout take 3rd exit. At next roundabout (traffic light controlled) select left lane and take 2nd exit (A617). Follow road for approx 4 miles to M1 motorway junction. At roundabout take 1st exit (M1 north). Leave M1 at next junction (30) then follow route from North/South.
