The Peak District and Derbyshire is amazingly situated right in the heart of England and we're so very fortunate to be surrounded by some of Europe's finest cities showcasing world-class events and attractions, award winning cuisine from around the world, plus some local specialities! All topped off with some fine places to rest your weary head after a day of exploring the countryside, followed by an evening of soaking up the atmosphere, city-style!

Manchester and Sheffield are both within an hour of the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park, but Derbyshire's very own city, Derby is the ideal place to make basecamp for exploring the area.

Derby is a youthful exuberant, no-nonsense city with a large student population making it great for cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs, but also for catching some quality live entertainment. We don't call Derby, Great Place, Great Base for nothing you know!

Manchester known for football, shopping and unique bars and restaurants. This hub of creativity and culture makes Manchester arguably the coolest city to stay near the Peak District- one of the highlights of Manchester is the Northern Quarter, full of some of the best shopping in the area and completely unqiue bars and restaurants. Close to Manchester lies some beautiful countryside walks, such as Dovestone Reservoir and Saddleworth Moor in Oldham.

Sheffield is another brilliant city to base a stay if you’re wanting to explore the Peak District. Some beauty spots and walks, such as the Longshaw Estate, are under ten miles away from the centre.
