About
A scattered village nestling in gorgeous countryside north of Macclesfield.Coal mining took place in the area and following the completion of the Macclesfield Canal in 1831 it could more easily be transported. With the arrival of the railway in 1845 transportation of farming produce to nearby towns and urban areas greatly assisted the communities.
