Exploring the Peak District is a wonderful way to take in the diverse and stunning landscape, and get to know all of what this National Park has to offer. Places that are frequented by explorers and nature-lovers are hills, villages, rivers, reservoirs and lakes, but to name a few.
Arguably the most famous part of the Peak District to explore is Kinder Scout via Edale, this is not only the highest point of the Peak District but is also where the famous Mass Trespass of 1932 happened, which was a peaceful protests which influenced the National Parks legislation in 1949, allowing us our ‘right to roam’.
One of the most popular Derbyshire villages to visit is Bakewell- home to the Original Bakewell Pudding Shop, shops, church and many lovely cafes, Bakewell is loved by locals and tourists alike.
The Peak District also has lots of water, which is lovely to enjoy. Rivers, lakes and reservoirs are dotted around the whole area and so although you’re in the middle of England, you’re never truly too far away from water!
