Wadshelf Well Dressing
This ancient custom only takes place in Derbyshire, and is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made from natural materials

Although Wadshelf was mentioned in the Domesday book this is our very first
Well Dressing.
The Blessing will take place at 10:30 on 8th July. The Village Hall will serve refreshments from 10 until 4 pm.
The Well will be on display from Saturday 8th July and will be shown until Sunday 16th July. The Village Hall will be open for the sale of refreshments and work by local artists from 9am until 4pm, Saturday 8th July until Sunday 16th July. There is on-street parking on Bradshaw Lane just opposite the Well-Dressing.
The creation of the Well Dressing will take place in the village hall during the week commencing 3rd July. If you are interested in seeing how its done please drop in. You may even want to have a go!
