The second annual Unlucky Strike Halloween Ball goes old school, 1950s style!Unluckyville High is hosting a pep rally as the school's Basketball Team (Unluckyville Black Cats) reaches the final of the "Spooky Sixteen" Basketball finals sponsored by Striker Industries Soft Drink arm "Drinking Game. Pep-tonic"After meeting you at the door, the Unluckyville scream team will guide you through the night in a specially created Mid Century Atomic, High School setting, including gym, reception, library, corridor and lab scenery. The Unluckyville High school psychologist will be on hand to give you a reading too. Expect twists and turns, tricks and treats throughout the night as we find out the fate of the Unluckyville Black Cats as they embark on their journey to the team finals.You can follow all the clues on our Facebook event forum at "Unluckyville High Halloween Hop 'n' Howl" Here, we invite our guests to share costume ideas, finds and features to help bring your characters to life. There's a special prize for best character/costume and the winner will be crowned "The King or Queen of Scream" live. You can even dedicate a track from the Unluckyville Playlist that will be read out and played on the Rip Ryder Half Time Radio Show during the interval. The scream team want to make your visit to Unluckyville as immersive and interactive as possible whilst you enjoy a quality live music experience with special staging, sound and lighting effects.The main event features Unlucky Strike (Full Band) officially release their debut album "Meanwhile Back at the Lab" The band will be playing tracks from the long awaited debut album including "3am Again" " This Drinking Game" and "City Beautiful" as well as some familiar seasonal spine tinglers and new material to get you glowing and grooving on the dance floor throughout the night.Some of you may be familiar with Chris and Gemma's duo appearances but their set changes into a higher gear complimented by the full band, fueling the Rock n Roll, Rockabilly and Americana style of their original compositions further. The band will interact with the event backstory which will be interwoven into their set to give our guests a unique live music Halloween experience!Speaking of unique, live music…Unluckyville High is proud to welcome special guest Thomas Truax to the Hop 'n' Howl!.Since the year 2000 Thomas has been travelling the world performing with his evolving “band” of bizarre self-made Harry Partch-esque instruments including a motorised drum machine made of bike wheels called ‘Mother Superior’ and a pimped-up Dr. Seuss-ian Gramophone called ‘The Hornicator’, as well as his venerable resonator guitar ‘Hank’.Truax crafts rich, poetically evocative songs about insects, trees, technology, and a lifelong obsession with all things lunar, including various reasons ‘Why Dogs Howl at The Moon’. Notable supporters and collaborators include Jarvis Cocker, Duke Special, Richard Hawley, James Smith of Yard Act, Bob Log III, the Dresden Dolls and the late author Terry Pratchett.
