About
When: 28th October 2023, 10:30am
Tissington Craft Fairs are independently run and carefully curated to focus on the core values of a traditional craft fair. At each market we will introduce you to a variety of talented designers, makers and artists and their unique range of products.
Whilst many events with a similar ethos to ours are now called artisan or makers markets, it was a conscious decision for us to retain the traditional name of craft fair as we felt this was much more in keeping with the historical nature of our timeless village location.
Only 3.5 miles from Ashbourne, Tissington is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing day out. Not only will you discover a number of independent small businesses within the village but you can also make a day of it by enjoying a longer walk or ride along the Tissington Trail. Tissington Hall, built in the 17th century, is only a couple of minutes walk down the lane from our venue and is still home to the FitzHerbert family, who privately own the Tissington estate.
Each craft fair takes place in Tissington Village Hall, which is located opposite the village duck pond. The historic building has been given a fresh, modern update inside and you will find the craft fairs here regularly between April and October. The building benefits from a wi-fi connection and means that many of our stallholders can easily accept card payments.
You can also visit us during Tissington Well Dressing week, with craft fairs taking place at the Village Hall on Thursday 18th & Friday 19th May and then again on Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th May. All opening at 9.30am and closing at 5.00pm.
There is free entry for visitors to all of our craft fairs and dogs are more than welcome to meet our makers too!
Although you will see steps up to the main entrance, alternative access is available for wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility upon request. A disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are also available.
Please see the events calendar on our website for a full list of the makers exhibiting at each of our markets.
If you are interested in becoming one of our stallholders or would like further details, please e-mail tissingtoncraftfairs@gmail.com.
