    A weekend of family fun and entertainment featuring a “Floating Market” and Historic Working Boats, market stalls, live music, fairground attractions, food and drink.

    Celebrate the heritage of the canals, port and historic village of Shardlow with the 3rd annual “Shardlow Inland Port Festival”, Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September 2023.

    “Shardlow Inland Port Festival” takes place over the weekend of Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September 2023 from 10am till 4pm and features independent activities throughout the village of Shardlow.

    Soak up the atmosphere of the heritage of yesteryear to admire the many Historic & Working Narrowboats gathered around the picturesque London Wharf at the Clock Warehouse. The Heritage Centre will be open with a variety of displays on show.

    Featuring a “Floating Market” of narrowboats on the Trent & Mersey canal in the heart of this historic village. Walk along the towpath and take a look at the many wares for sale from “The Floating Market” including crystals, jewellery, sustainable clothing, rope work, fairy houses, cheese, canal art, Barista coffee or a cuppa with cake. Something for everyone.

    If you are feeling brave join the Ghost Walk and learn about days gone by.

    Live Music and Morris Dancers feature at The Boathouse along with fairground attractions, food, market stalls, and vintage car, bike & trike truck showdown.

    Bring you best friend to the Fun Dog Show at The Shakespeare Inn and enjoy Live Music, Beer Garden, food and entertainment.

    The Village Hall will be bustling with market stalls and a children’s performance, not to be missed. Check out the ice creams, tea & cakes and bacon butties.

    St James’ Church will also be open to the public, another opportunity to walk around and buy refreshments, and a trip up the Tower to ring the bells - new members welcome (Saturday)

    Visitor moorings for boats from Wilne Lane Bridge no 2 to Derwent Mouth Lock.

    There is a large field car park DE72 2GP and we ask for a £4 donation towards Festival costs, Free Programme Map available from the car park.
