Holymoorside Well Dressing
This ancient custom is only found in Derbyshire and is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made from natural materials.

When: 25th August 2023, 12:00am
Our well dressings are made in the open on site, so are available to view 24 hours a day from when we start.
Making Well Dressings: Sat 19 August to Wed 23 August, 10.00 to 18.00.
Blessing: 19.00 Thursday 24th August
Well Dressing available to view: Fri 25th August to Sunday 10th September. Open 24hrs - Well dressing is lit at night
The Well Dressings are on Cotton Mill Hill, Holymoorside, S42 7EJ, they are located adjacent to the River Hipper at the bottom of Cotton Mill Hill, next to the UR Chapel, 100m East of The Bull Pub. What3Words: ///crypt.garden.producing
In recent years we have had a main well, children's well and Teen's well. It is likely that there will not be a teen well in 2023, but we will certainly have the main and children's wells.
