Discover Caving Trip

You don’t have to have any previous experience for this activity, and it can be enjoyed by anyone 10 years old or above. The caving can be quite physical if you choose to test yourself, but normal fitness levels will be fine. We will provide kneepads for you, as a certain amount of crawling is part of the experience.

This 2-3 hour caving activity will involve a trip into a local cave or mine system in the Castleton area. Depending on which cave we visit on the day, cavers may come across short scrambles, river passages, cave mud and even the option to try some squeeze challenges or longer, more physical sections of caving passage.

A Discover Caving Trip is perfect for anyone who has never caved before. It’s ideal for families, individuals or small groups wanting to discover what caving is really like without committing to a full day underground. Our aim is to give you a friendly introduction to the sport in a relaxed setting where harder challenges are your choice to take part in or not. We keep our groups small, so it feels like a very personal service, you’ll be part of group with a maximum ratio of 8 people to 1 instructor.
