This ancient custom is unique to Derbyshire and is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made from natural materials.
The wells are blessed every year on the Wednesday after the second Sunday in August.
This marks the start of a week of activities not the least of which is the Carnival Parade on the Saturday.
Barlow Well Dressing can be found opposite The Peakcock pub on Hackney Lane,
Barlow is located on the B6051 about 6km northwest of Chesterfield.
