Thornbridge Lodge

Thornbridge Lodge is a beautiful stone built cottage situated on the edge of the village of Great Longstone in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Just across the lane opposite the courtyard, Thornbridge Lodge enjoys an enviable position right on the Monsal Trail. This allows you to enjoy the freedom of a car-less weekend if you choose as you can cycle or walk right from your door step - perfect for prams and pushchairs too. The beautifully presented cottage stands in the grounds of the Thornbridge Manor (also available to rent for larger groups) yet affords much privacy with its own entrance, parking enclosed garden and super patio for outdoor dining. This well equipped, stylish and comfortable 4 bedroom lodge (these are two attached dwellings but rented as one large property for up to 10 guests), offers spacious living with lots of character. This family friendly property sleeps a maximum of 8/10 people. All rooms are pleasantly decorated with neutral colours and fresh linen. Off the inner hall in the main part of the lodge there are two ground floor bedrooms (one can be a twin or double and the other a double only). These two bedrooms share a family bathroom with bath and separate shower enclosure. Up a flight of stairs you will find one first floor double bedroom with en suite shower room. There is another en suite king size double bedroom (double only) via external access from within the private courtyard, up a narrow spiral staircase. Downstairs is a second sitting room which can also be used as a bedroom with two comfortable sofa beds for two extra guests or as a family suite. When it comes to cooking and dining, the lodge has an open plan kitchen and dining room equipped with modern appliances and is able to comfortably seat up to 10 people.The living space benefits from a high beamed ceiling, polished wooden floor and an impressive fire with a log burning stove for the colder months, or throw open the bay windowed double doors to enjoy the garden.Ideally located just two miles north of the market town of Bakewell, one mile from the pretty picturesque village of Ashford in the Water and 10 minutes drive away from Chatsworth Estate.
