The Edensor Tea Cottage

The Edensor Tea Cottage, is as English as it gets when it comes to visiting The Peak District, It is surrounded by chocolate box houses, picture perfect views, and is based in a village full of history that is a ‘must see’ when visiting Derbyshire. There is a short path that leads you straight to the famous Chatsworth House and another path (slightly longer) that leads you straight into the town of Bakewell. The tea cottage is the oldest building in the village, with quirky shaped rooms, low ceilings and wooden beams. Traditional Afternoon Teas are ever so popular when visiting the tea cottage, which requires 24 hours notice. The food is of a high quality, made with the freshest of ingredients, obtained by local suppliers. It covers everything from homemade cakes and scones, to seasonal salads, fish and chips and Derbyshire oatcakes. There really is something for everyone on the menu. The ‘Works’ breakfast at Edensor is a favourite by locals and is highly recommended when visiting! In the summer season the ‘Bluebells’ ice cream freezer comes out to refresh the palette and cool you down! A ‘cheeky monkey’ children’s menu is also available for breakfast and lunch. The owners who live next door are very much part of the day to day running of the tea cottage, which creates a lovely atmosphere between them and their staff. You often see their children and dog running around the garden or talking to customers! A truly unique tea cottage that is worth visiting.
