The Chequers is situated on Froggatt Edge in the Dark Peak, with direct access from our beer garden. Froggatt Edge is the perfect place for walking, climbing, cycling and has exceptional views of Hope Valley, Chatsworth House and the River Derwent. We have compiled a selection of circular walks from The Chequers around Froggatt Edge with varying difficulties and durations. Whether you’re after a short walk to work up an appetite before dinner, or day out rambling, we can send you in the right direction! Chatsworth House, Gardens and Estate is also around a ten-minute drive away from The Chequers.
The Chequers offers a comprehensive food menu with traditional pub classics, such as our famous steak and ale pie, as well as Rosette-winning dishes. All our produce is sourced locally, homemade and fresh. We have a selection of local beers on tap sourced from Peak Ales, Chatsworth, and Bradfield Brewery, Sheffield.
