Rowdale Barns

Rowdale Barns is located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, just 2 miles from the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth Estate on the main road between Hassop and Ashford in the Water. It is approach via a sweeping driveway and is surrounded by fields to the rear and side. You can enjoy a traditional farm setting with a garden supplied with picnic benches and BBQ's (please remember to bring your own charcoal).

Hop over a stile to the rear of the garden and walk over the field which will lead you directly onto The Monsal Trail. A fabulous off road former converted railway for travel by foot or bicycle to Bakewell or Buxton. You are a short walk down the trail to Hassop Station cycle hire and its fabulous cafe. Alternatively, travel in the other direction through the tunnel and arrive at the famous viaduct with an awesome view. Travel off the beaten track down into Monsal Dale and you have access to the most incredible walks and dramatic landscape the Peak District has to offer right from your door step.​

Rowdale Barns provides wonderful village accommodation just on the cusp of Great Longstone. You can walk up to the village and enjoy a selection of heart-warming country pubs, a village store and buy fresh milk and eggs at the farm.

Take a leisurely walk down the trial through fields to the picture postcard village of Ashford in the Water, one of the most scenic and popular villages in the Peak District National Park.

Rowdale Barns makes a great base for visiting the most amazing of Peak District treats for you to enjoy - the ancient market town of Bakewell, Chatsworth House (a few minutes minutes drive), Haddon Hall (10 minutes drive), historic spa town of Buxton (15 minutes drive) to name just a few.
