River Cottage

The cottage has a total of 8 bedrooms (some are family rooms with bunk beds) and 6 bathrooms, the majority of bedrooms also have the option of being made up as twins or double beds, offering guests the great flexibility in sleeping arrangements. The property has a fabulous large kitchen, fully equipped with everything you need to self-cater for a large group including a double range master oven. There is a separate formal dining room with seating for up to 20 guests around one long table as we know dining together is an important aspect of your stay. There is also an elegant sitting room, perfect for relaxing in after a fun filled day exploring the Peak District.One of the best features of this property is the amazing outdoor space, the property has the most beautiful manicured garden with the River Wye flowing at the bottom it. There is a lovely patio area with outdoor dining table, seating, and BBQ, a delightful spot to enjoy some al fresco dining and soak up the riverside views with the rolling Derbyshire hills as a backdrop.The location of River Cottage is first-rate, Ashford in the Water which is well known for its medieval Sheep-wash bridge and long tradition of well dressing, is well served by two traditional village pubs, a tearoom and fantastic local shop/deli. There are plenty of great walks from your doorstep including a great circular route up to the famous Monsal Head which has breath-taking views over the dramatic Peak District landscape. You are also only 2 miles from the ancient historic market town of Bakewell, home to the famous Bakewell pudding.
