Stunning self-catering accommodation hosted by the Peak District National Park

Opened in summer 2022, Cattis Side Cottage is a truly unique self-catering experience set in the heart of the Peak District’s iconic Stanage-North Lees estate run and operated by the National Park and its rangers.

This idyllic and traditional cottage has nature on the doorstep and is nestled beautifully on its own on a hillside and just a mile from the famous rock-climbing location of Stanage Edge within the Peak District National Park. Sought-after locations such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and villages such as Bakewell, Castleton and Edale are all within 14 miles. Locally, the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate and Eastern Moors are just 4 miles away, and can be reached by well-marked walking trails for keen hikers. The iconic dams and reservoirs of the Upper Derwent Valley are also a perfect day trip being within 10 miles.

You are welcomed in to a cosy and comfortable lounge with a sofa and chairs, Smart TV and the first of two wood burners set within an original fireplace. Across the stone-floored hall lies a kitchen/diner with a second wood burner plus a range of appliances to create the perfect meal. Up the quaint but narrow original staircase is a landing leading to the bedrooms. The first is a pretty king-size bedroom and the second is a twin room boasting an exposed stone wall. At the end of the landing lies a contemporary bathroom with a wonderful free-standing bath and walk-in shower.

To the front of the cottage is a carved stone seat overlooking the mature trees and wildflower meadows. Head up the external steps to the raised patio area with seating, the perfect place to sit and immerse yourself in the sounds of nature.
