    5 Church Street

Deceptively spacious and light, Farriers is an architect-designed cottage in a quiet lane close to the centre of historic Buxton. Recently refurbished, tastefully decorated and superbly equipped.

    About

Convenient for the theatre, parks, restaurants and pubs. Ideal for those seeking a quiet hideaway without being in the middle of nowhere! 5 Church Street has two bedrooms, one double and one twin. There is an open plan kitchen living area and family bathroom. The property has gas central heating (underfloor downstairs with radiators upstairs) and a combination boiler providing hot water on demand. There is off street car-parking for one vehicle. Both bedrooms are tastefully and comfortably furnished, the generous dressing table in the twin room doubling as a desk for those seeking a peaceful retreat for working away from home. Each bed is provided with crisp cotton bed linen, high quality duvet, two pillows per person and extra blankets for those chilly nights. Both bedrooms are bright, airy and characterful, with roof windows and exposed roof timbers. All windows are fitted with blackout blinds as well as pretty curtains, to ensure a good night’s sleep. 5 Church Street has a comfortable living and dining room with well-planned kitchen area adjacent – conducive to convivial evenings where the cook is not banished to slave over a hot stove alone. There is a traditional dining table with rush-seated chairs. Classic tableware and glassware are provided – enough for six so you can invite two friends to dine with you. A contemporary but cosy room, the woodstrip flooring has heating underneath and rugs for bare feet; the sofa and easy chairs seat four comfortably. The remarkably convincing electric 'wood-burning stove' is operated at the flick of a switch. A television, video and DVD player, radio and CD player are provided for nights staying in. The well-equipped oak kitchen has a fan-assisted electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, high quality kitchen utensils and ample food storage. The washing/drying machine is tucked away under the stairs, out of sight and hearing. The modern, white bathroom has a full size bath and thermostatically-controlled, powerful shower. There is underfloor heating beneath the limestone floor tiles, a heated towel rail and a shaver point. Bath and hand towels are provided for each guest. The entrance hallway provides coat hanging space and room for shoes. As in many older properties, the staircase is quite narrow and awkward – but there are good views from the windows on the way up!
