  • Dogs/pets accepted by arrangement - We do ask that you do not leave pets unattended in your bedroom at any time, and that you bear in mind other guests who may not be comfortable with dogs. We are also required to advise you that with the exception of Assistance Dogs we do not permit pets in the breakfast room. Regarding their exercise – it depends on how much of a walk they need really. About 10 minutes’ walk from us is the Pavilion Gardens, which is great for walks on the lead as it has tarmac paths. If you would like them to be off lead I can recommend a large open space about 5 minutes’ drive from us (I used to take our dog there), with lots of fields, undergrowth etc, but is away from the roads. Both locations have bins. If you prefer to road walk, then all bins in the Buxton area can take “poo bags”.

Road Directions

From the A515 Ashbourne Road, turn right at Fiveways traffic lights on to Dale Road. Continue on this road under a bridge and turn immediately left into Peveril Road. This leads into Clifton Road, with the Old Manse Guest House on the right.

A6 from Bakewell, take the first exit at the roundabout into Dale Road. After approx 400 m, turn right into Peveril Road. This leads into Clifton Road with the Old Manse Guest House on the right.

A6 from Manchester, go left at the first roundabout and right at the second Morrisons roundabout into Dale Road. After approx 400m turn right into Peveril Road. This leads into Clifton Road with the Old Manse Guest House on the right.

From A53/ A54/ A537 head into Buxton and then fork right at traffic lights on to Macclesfield Road. Go straight over at Fiveways traffic lights on to Dale Road. Continue on this road under a bridge and turn immediately left into Peveril Road. This road leads into Clifton Road with the Old Manse Guest House on the right.

The nearest railway station is Buxton. It takes approx 10 minutes to walk to the Old Manse Guest House from the station.

Public Transport Directions

The nearest Train Station is Buxton, which is a 10 - 15 minute walk away. Taxis from the station cost about £3.00.
