About
Set between Dovedale and the Manifold Valley, The Old Chapel is your escape to the country. Relax and enjoy the spectacular views from the well tended garden or use the Old Chapel as a base for exploring all the Peak District National Park has to offer.
After an award winning breakfast which will set you up for the day, the beautiful open and rolling countryside beckons you to take a walk right from the door. Take an evening stroll to the local landmark, Thors Cave, and watch the sun set over the rolling hills before popping in at the village pub. Leave the car behind and walk off the beaten track in this tranquil part of the Peak District National Park - you can even have parts of it to yourself on Bank Holidays! Why not take a cycle ride along one of the local traffic free trails (Tissington trail, High Peak trail or Manifold Valley)? They're on former railway lines so they're not too steep. The thrills and spills of Alton Towers are just half an hours drive away. There are also several stately homes to visit, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and National Trust properties and gardens just a short drive away. Explore beneath the Peak District by visiting caverns and caves. Go back in time and visit the National Tramway Museum at Crich or take a trip on a steam train. Wander round one of our local market towns - Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton or Leek - for interesting architecture, local delicacies to eat and drink and a bit of retail therapy. There's something for everyone!
After a day exploring the Peak District come back to relax at the Old Chapel. Take a seat in the sunny garden and enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of tea and a good book! Bliss! The Old Chapel really is an ideal spot for a quiet and rejuvenating break.
