AboutThe Old Bakehouse, situated in the centre of Calver village, restored and extended in keeping with it's 14 century origins. Originally part of the Hassop Hall Estates, was acquired in the early part of the last century from the 'dubious' Colonel Leslie, the widower of the Eyre family heiress who was rumored to have died in mysterious circumstances. The house is ideal for large family groups, reunions, celebrations, anniversaries in a comfortable environment, with a mixture of charming antique furniture, complemented by tasteful, good quality, furnishings, fabrics and fittings.
The dining room properly accommodates all guests, as does the comfortable lounge.
The house is ideal for a corporate retreat, off campus work and business gatherings.
Fully serviced facilities can be made available including comprehensive catering services on a variable scale, subject to individual requirements. This is provided by our catering partners The Chequers Inn at Froggatt Edge and Gourmet Express.
The house is less than 100 yards from the Derwent Water Arms. Further fine dining is available at nearby Fischer's, Rowleys, The Cavendish (all in Baslow) and the Devonshire Arms in Beeley on the Chatsworth Estate.
The house is located nearby for visiting attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, shopping in the pretty market town of Bakewell or a visit to the thrills of Alton Towers.
