We are good to go here at The Maynard, see our latest blog to see how we are staying safe and operating within all government guidelines regarding Covid.Great hospitality, heritage and a warming sense of community — these are the things we value in our country home. Nestled within the Peak District National Park, The Maynard combines everything our guests have come to appreciate in contemporary sophistication and the simpler, traditional charms of our beautiful Derbyshire countryside. A peaceful and relaxing destination everybody can call home. Whether staying in our luxury accommodation, celebrating a wedding, birthday or any special occasion with family and friends, or simply dropping by to visit our bar and renowned restaurant, our home is always open.
The ethos behind our menus is simple: it must be local, fresh, accessible and food that our guests would want to enjoy with us. Our Head Chef, Adrian Gagea, has worked hard in designing menus to suit all diets and dietary requirements. We have numerous options for guests, which include healthier eating options and plant based diets. We have adapted many of our dishes to be naturally gluten free without impacting the flavours and textures to those who aren’t. As all of our food is created fresh in house, we can be completely adaptable to any requests that you may have.
Our bar is open from 10am every day, where we invite you to a hearty breakfast, lunch, after work drinks, evening meals or that much needed night-cap. We are huge dog fans and invite all of our guests’ four-legged friends in with a bowl of water, a treat and love and attention from our staff. Enjoy leisurely mornings with a warming cup of coffee by our log burner, or a summer’s evening in our beautiful garden, taking in the picturesque views of the Hope Valley. All of our premium drinks have been selected with care, including 20 local gins from local producers White Peak Distillery and Hedgerow. We have 4 cask ales from Thornbridge, Abbeydale and Peak Ales Breweries and wines from award-winning merchant, John Hattersley. Our coffee is ethically and sustainably sourced by Roastology in Sheffield and all our organic teas are from Joe’s Tea.
Our guest rooms offer all the comforts of contemporary living, while retaining the charm and character of a rustic retreat — an idyllic home away from home in the heart of the country. Whether you’re looking for a local place to stop, or somewhere to relax, at the end of long walk in the peaks, The Maynard provide a luxurious and comfortable stay. We offer premium bedrooms of different standards. All of the en-suite bedrooms come with elite linen, luxury toiletries from Duck Island, coffee from Roastology, Joe’s Tea and local organic water. Cooked breakfast is inclusive within all room tariffs. We also welcome dogs into all rooms with the exception of the ‘Sir Don Bradman Suite’.
The new look Chatsworth Suite, refurbished in 2020, brings together the cutting edge of hospitality and service, with fresh food sourced from premium local suppliers. For any event, the licensed venue flaunts original features and is just perfect for hosting any occasion for up to 130 seated guests and 200 guests for a more informal gathering. This unique venue promises stunning views across the Hope Valley. The Chatsworth Suite houses its own entrance, bar, toilets, kitchen and private gardens, therefore it will feel exclusive to you and your guests. All menus can be designed around you and your personal requests making your event bespoke to yourselves. Our dedicated events team will guide you every step of the way and be there on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly. Whether it is a wedding, birthday, anniversary, christening, celebration of life, corporate or charity event; the dynamic nature of this amazing room caters for it all.
