About
buxton Set among some of the Peak District’s most beautiful scenery and hugging the banks of the River Dane, Gradbach is rich in history and heritage. Home to a silk spinning mill in the 1700s and later becoming a popular place to stay, our boutique, 13-bedroom hotel has been lovingly refurbished to provide groups or individual guests with comfortable accommodation, delicious food and state-of-the-art conference and outdoor facilities. We’re proud of our location and rightly so - The Mill is the ideal spot for those who enjoy walking and active pursuits as well as travellers searching for the perfect hideaway.

Map & Directions
Road Directions
Travelling north on the A52 (Leek to Macclesfield Road) turn right onto the A54 towards Buxton. Pass the "Fourways" Diner and the Wild Boar Pub, then sharp right towards Quarnford at the Rose and Crown. Continue following this road into Staffordshire until you come to an incredibly sharp right hand turning where the road is doubling back on itself (signed Gradbach Scout Camp). Carefully take this turning, follow the road for approx. half a mile passing the carpark for The Roaches, and then turn right into the driveway for Gradbach Mill.
By road from Buxton or Leek, take the A53 until you reach the secondary road for Gradbach and Allgreave (5 miles from Buxton and 7 miles from Leek). Proceed through Flash, turning left by the church, and follow the road to the bottom of the hill, past the left turn for Royal Cottage. About 100 metres after this junction, bear left down a farm road (signed Gradbach Scout Camp). Continue on this road for around half a mile passing the carpark for The Roaches, and turning right into the driveway for Gradbach Mill.
