Burrs Farm

About

Burrs Farm sits alone in 3 acres of lush farmland and was the former Country Manor House of Chelmorton and affords total privacy in a stunning rural location with amazing views across the Peak District.

Burrs Farm is the perfect party house for friends and family wanting a cosy rural get away with a total of 7 freshly decorated bedrooms, 1 x family bathrooms and 4 x en suites. The property is very spacious and retains all the character you would expect from a country residence with centuries of history. You can sleep, comfortably dine and socialise groups of 14 to 20 in this spacious manor all under one roof.

Whilst you will not tire of the picturesque scenery and the secluded position of Burrs Farm you are within easy reach of the Peak Districts finest spa town of Buxton and the popular market town of Bakewell. You must also make the most of the exceptional location for walking, cycling and outdoor pursuits with the two nearby off road bike routes of the Monsal Trail and Tissington and High Peak Trial. A traditional village pub in Chelmorton is also walkable and our award winning pub The Royal Oak is just a 5 minute drive.

An impressive farm house amongst rolling hills and dales. Burrs Farm has an amazing large garden complete with hot tub and firepit and just beyond the garden is a fantastic 3 acre footgolf course for your unlimited private use during your stay.  The property is only a 15-20 minute walk to the village pub, The Church Inn in Chelmorton and approximately 2 miles from the start of the Monsal Trail where you can hire bikes. The famous spa town of Buxton is a short 10 minute drive away.

Map & Directions

Road Directions

Burrs Farm is quite tricky to find as you cannot view the farm from the road (and the postcode takes you to another farm!) so please use these directions below:Take the A6 between Bakewell and Buxton. Turn onto Brierlow Bar A5270 sign posted Chelmorton (the turning is approx. 3.8 miles from Buxton Centre and 7.5 miles from Bakewell) and follow the road for ¾ mile. The track that leads to Burrs Farm is on the right hand side just after a cattle crossing on the left - there is also a footpath marker with a large ‘Burrs farm’ sign on it as you turn onto the track. (if you pass a sign for the Church Inn on your left or a left hand turn for Chelmorton you have gone a few yards to far).Follow the track for 0.3 miles and you will see a fairly new wooden fence on the right hand side, turn right and you will drive over a cattle grid and as you dip down you will see Burrs Farm.If you are coming from the direction of Ashbourne on A515 take the right hand turn (Old Coalpit Lane A5270) before the Brierlow Bar bookshop again signed posted to Chelmorton, follow the road and after about ½ mile, you will pass two right hand turns signposted for Chelmorton, carry on beyond these for a few yards until you see a sign on the right hand side for the Church Inn and a cattle crossing, take the next left hand turning onto a farm track that leads to Burrs Farm. (If you pass a small row of cottages on the brow of the hill you have gone too far).Burrs farm is signposted on the public footpath sign as you turn onto the track. Please note that the postcode does not take you to the property direct but a nearby Farm called Flatt Farm (if you see a large blue cabin at the bottom of the drive it is the wrong farm!). Do use these directions above and make sure all your fellow guests are aware of this information.
