High quality self catering accommodation in the picturesque village of Hartington in the Derbyshire Dales. Ideally situated for visiting all the Peak District has to offer. Fantastic walking countryside straight from the cottage, including the beautiful Dovedale with the famous Stepping Stones. Tissington and High Peak cycle trails within one mile, as is the Manifold Track with the impressive Thors Cave. The stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are a short drive away. You can visit the spa town of Buxton, or the market towns of Ashbourne, Leek and Bakewell, where it is a must to sample the famous Bakewell pudding.
The cottages are conviently placed in Hartington within walking distance of the local inns and village stores.. Hartington is a lovely village and has a number of shops for you to "potter" around, or you can rest by the village pond and take in the ambience of the village. A visit to the church of St Giles is a must, and there is a permanent display in the Village Hall of old village photographs and history.
Both the adjoining cottages are AA 4 Star Self Catering rated, and have been recently renovated to a high standard.
The cottages are personally supervised by ourselves and we take pride in our cottages, and our high standard of housekeeping reflects this. All of those extra items you will need - kitchen foil, kitchen rolls, shower gel, dishwasher tablets etc are provided to make it easier for you.
Beech cottage sleeps 7, 3 bedrooms - 1 kingsize, 1 single on 1st floor and 1 family (1 double, 2 single) on 2nd floor. Bathroom is on ground floor.
Birch Cottage sleeps 6+1, 3 bedrooms -1 kingsize, 1 single (plus pull out bed) on 1st floor, 1 family (1 kingsize, 1 single) with en suite basin and wc on 2nd floor. Bathroom is on 1st floor.
The kitchens are fully equipped with everything you will need to prepare family meals.
The lounges have comfortable leather sofa's, a flat screen tv and basic sky freeview. There is an inviting open coal/log in Beech Cottage, and a warming wood burning stove in Birch Cottage.
All fuel is provided in the rental.
Both cottages have a lawned front garden with table and chairs and BBQ, ideal for those summer days. There is also a car parking space for one car at each cottage, with ample car parking on the quiet adjacent road.
