You will always find a warm welcome at Barn Farm. We are in the heart of the Peak District and we provide an idyllic location for camping. We are located 7 miles south of the historic market town of Bakewell and 3 miles west of Matlock. Barn Farm is ideally situated to access the diverse array of local attractions.
Offering 5 star facilities and a picture perfect scenery you will be able to relax and enjoy your stay!
The Limestone Way passes close by the farm, which is situated on the junction of no less than 4 major footpaths throughout the area. Bordering the farm is the mystical Stanton Moor with its ancient 'Nine Ladies' stone circle. A little farther afield the River Lathkill provides the focus of a pleasant walk through the Lathkill Dale. Robin Hood's Stride and Catcliffe Rocks are just 2 of the local climbing areas.
Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are close by. Matlock Bath boasts the children's attraction 'Gullivers Kingdom' and a cable car to the Heights of Abraham. There is also the Derbyshire Wildlife's Whistlestop Centre and Mining Museum.
We have one field which we use for camping for the whole of the season Please note we do not offer electric hook up for tents.
We have separate areas for tourers which are hard surfaced pitches and provide an all weather surface. Some have shared illuminated electrical hook up bollards with drinking water and some have individual electrical hook up points. They all enjoy lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Tourers are unable to be pitched in the camping fields, they need to be booked onto one of the touring pitches. Please note tents are not able to be pitched next to the caravans. There is separate fields for tents.
In addition to our camping and caravan pitches we also have five camping barns providing accommodation from 2 to 15 people. All camping barns are provided with crockery, cutlery, glasses, cooking utensils, toaster and a kettle. We also provide some pans, frying pans and dishes. Sorry but we do not allow dogs in any of the barns.
Our season runs from Easter to 31 October! The campsite is very popular with guests, some visiting several times a year. Overlooking the beautiful Derwent Valley, the farm is a haven for wildlife including Badgers and rare Black Fallow deer.
