Road Directions

Directions to Ashford Mill by car from Bakewell (approx. 3 mins):  •    Follow signs to the A6 (Buxton Road)- continue along this for 1.4 miles •    There is a right-hand turn with national speed limit signs & dead-end signs, take this turning •    *TIP – IF YOU REACH A ROW OF COTTAGES AND BUS STOP ON YOUR LEFT-HAND SIDE OR A JUNCTION WITH A RIGHT-HAND TURN TO CHESTERFIELD/SHEFFIELD WITH A MIDDLE LANE FOR THE TURNING YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR.* •    Once you have taken the turn up the ‘dead-end’ follow it up for 0.1 mile and take the first left (signposted private) •    Follow the lane to the end (you will go past a house and cottage on your right and the river will be on the left) •    The mill will be on your left-hand side opposite garages. •    You have arrived at Ashford Mill!

Directions to Ashford Mill by car from Buxton (approx. 20 mins):  •    Follow signs to the A6- continue along this for 9.7 miles •    You will go past a junction with a left turning to Ashford-in-the-Water/Monsal Head/Chesterfield/Sheffield. Do not take this left, it is the one after. •    After the junction there is some houses on your right with a bus stop, almost immediately after there is a corner with a left turn on that has national speed limit signs & dead-end signs. Take this turning. •    Once you have taken the turn up the ‘dead-end’ follow it up for 0.1 mile and take the first left (signposted private) •    Follow the lane to the end (you will go past a house and cottage on your right and the river will be on the left) •    The mill will be on your left-hand side opposite garages. •    You have arrived at Ashford Mill!
