Ideal for large family groups, a house party full of friends, reunions, self-guided cycling holidays, hen parties or corporate events and team-building bookings.

Socialise with your party in the large, well equipped open plan kitchen diner, watch your favourite movie in the soundproofed cinema room with surround sound system and games console or relax with aromatherapy oils in our wellness sauna. The house has ample parking for up to 10 cars excellent Wi-Fi and mobile signal for keeping in touch. Ideally based within easy reach of the Peak District National Park, for its wonderful hiking trails, cycling along disused railway lines. If its water sports you are after, Carsington Water has sailing, wind surfing, kayaking and canoeing. Or why not head up to the Heights of Abraham the little Switzerland in the Peak District, a cable car ride will take up to incredible views towards Victorian spa town of Matlock Bath, there is a museum and caves there to explore and only a few minutes’ drive away. A visit to the Peak District has to include a trip to Bakewell to sample its famous Bakewell Pudding, or a trip to Chatsworth House, with its beautiful gardens or take a tour around this impressive house. Buxton, Haddon and Hardwick Halls are also close by. Then head back to Agricola House, and perhaps relax with a glass of wine in the large accessible sociable open plan living areas.

Visitors to Wirksworth are spoilt for choice for things to see and do. The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway operates services from Wirksworth to Duffield running through one of Derbyshire’s most lovely and unspoilt valleys. The spectacular StarDisc – a 21st century stone circle star chart – sits high above the town and illuminates the constellations at night. The National Stone Centre and Mount Cook Adventure Centre lie on the edge of Wirksworth, and in the town itself St. Mary’s Church – one of the finest in the county – is well worth a visit.

A new award-winning Heritage Centre, open 7 days a week, tells the fascinating stories of Wirksworth and its people, and regular guided walks around the town also leave from here. Like many of the Peak District and Derbyshire's market towns, Wirksworth is perhaps best explored on foot.

Local traditions include Well Dressing, the ancient ceremony of 'Church Clypping', the annual carnival and well-known Wirksworth Arts Festival each September. This is the time to experience the buzz of street theatre, music, family events and the famous Art & Architectural Trail when more than 150 artists throw open their doors for visitors to browse and buy original and affordable art – also a chance to take a look inside some of the most historical and quirky homes and buildings in Derbyshire!
