Refurbished, stone , character cottage set in the hillside of Bonsall village. Sleeps four. One 5ft double with ensuite shower room. One small twin with two 3ft singles in various formats (can be made into double) with ensuite bathroom with shower over. Open plan ground floor kitchen, dining and sitting room. Satellite TV, DVD and Radio-Ipodstation. WiFi available as an extra. Separate Utility room for bikes, dogs, walking gear and a washer-dryer. Stone courtyard garden with tables chairs and barbeque. Rural Green views, peace and tranquility. Logs and linen provided. Electric and central heating included. Pedestrian access is steep and winding. Flat shoes are recommended. There is parking up a narrow single track road. Two village pubs, children friendly with live music most weekends, both serving excellent food and within walking distance. The Barley Mow, home of the world champion Hen Races and the Kings Head who serve take away fish and chips in the evenings. Arrivals up to 11.30pm by arrangement. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits always in the cupboards. There are miles of excellent walking and cycling routes located on your doorstep. You are 2.1 miles from Matlock and 9.9 miles from Bakewell: Chatsworth House is 30 Minutes.

From MI: Exit at Junction 28. Take the A38 to Alfreton. Take the signs for the A615 to Matlock & Chesterfield, take the 4th exit, then the next left onto Wingfield Road. At the next junction turn right and then left following the signs for Matlock. Pass through Wessington and Tansley. Continue until you come to a roundabout with crown in the centre, take the 1st exit onto the A6. Go over bridge turn left. At Cromford junction turn right onto Cromford Hill. Take the next right into A5012 Water Lane. Follow the road until the next right. This is Clatterway. proceed up the steep hill. At what looks like a roundabout-but is an old fountain monument turn left. Proceed up the dale. Pass the Barley Mow pub on your right. The next left is Puddle Hill. Park at the end of the road.
From Matlock Bath Railway Station: Exit train station and grab a taxi or take a local bus from across the road adjacent to the station-Dale road. Take TM travel 411 to Cromford get off at the Greyhound pub. Transfer to G&J Holmes Coaches, bus M2 to Bonsall. Get off at fountain; ten minutes walk to Rose Cottage. From Manchester/Nottingham VIA the Transpeak bus. Get off Derby Road Cromford then walk to the Greyhound pub...follow the directions above.
