A traditional 18th Century Derbyshire cottage with secluded pretty garden in which you can relax and unwind in a wonderful setting overlooking fields and picturesque trout filled mill ponds. The cottage is set amongst 300 year old historic Arkwright mill ruins and waterfalls, situated in an idyllic and private location in an unspoilt rural hamlet within the Lumsdale Valley, a stones throw away from the spa town of Matlock. An ideal location to explore the Peak District National Park, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, numerous National Trust properties and Alton Towers. From your doorstep the immediate area is renowned for excellent walking, cycling, climbing, golf and quaint countryside pubs. Excellent sailing is at near by Ogston and Carsinton reservoirs (2 miles). Ample shopping in Ashbourne and Bakewell is only a short drive away. The cottage has been tastefully renovated whilst retaining original character such as beams and a log burning fire. A combination of a friendly atmosphere, in unique untouched surroundings and luxurious decor ensures you will enjoy your stay.

From North leave M1 Junction 29 to Chesterfield, then A632 towards Matlock, after approx. 8 miles pass Matlock Golf Club on right take left turn after 200 metres, Highfields Upper School now lies on your right. Road narrows, in approx. 100 metres carry straight on down the track to the left of bungalow. 5 Pond Cottages in approx. 300 metres with private parking.
From South leave M1 Junction 28 and turn left towards Derby on A38, after approx. 2 miles take A615 towards Matlock. At the crossroads at the Total petrol station after entering Matlock turn right on A632, climb hill, passing the Duke of Wellington pub on your left. In approx. 300 metres turn right. Highfields Upper School now lies on your right. Road narrows, in appprox 100 metres carry straight on down the track to the left of the bungalow. 5 Pond Cottages in approx. 300 metres with private parking.
