Details

Swainsley Farm is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty where the Manifold River flows through spectacular crags and wooded valleys into Dovedale
.
18th century farm buildings have been converted into three luxuriously furnished cottages each with fantastic views and great walking straight from the door!

* The Coach House (3 bedrooms, sleeps 6/7)
* The Haybarn (2 bedrooms, sleeps 4/5)
* The Old Byre (1 bedroom, sleeps 2).

The location is idyllic and private - a perfect, romantic hideaway where you can relax and unwind in comfort and luxury: comfy beds, cosy lounges, new deluxe bathrooms, fully-equipped, modern kitchens and many original features.

Lush tranquil dales and wild romantic highlands can be explored on foot, horseback or by car. The Manifold Trail runs below Swainsley Farm offering great cycling and easy access for push-chairs and wheelchair users. Climbing, caving, fishing and hang gliding are all available locally. The less adventurous may just want to walk along the banks of the River Manifold, stroll through fields into Dovedale or visit our pretty villages with their lovely old churches and ancient inns. There are a number of golf courses nearby.

* shops and wonderful places to eat close-by * Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth and Alton Towers 15-20 mins drive * free WiFi * complimentary leisure centre pass (swimming-pool/gym) * cycles available

Leave the A515 (Ashbourne to Buxton road) on the B5054 and go through Hartington to Hulme End. Turn left at the Manifold Inn and first right onto a very narrow lane to Butteron. After approx 1 mile go over a very pretty humpbacked bridge (Manifold River), past entrance to Swainsley Hall and up the hill towards Butterton. We are the next turning on the left.
