This 17th century holiday cottage provides a comfortable place to stay in the historic Market Town of Buxton with many varied events taking place throughout the year including The Buxton Festival and Gilbert & Sullivan Festival. Smithy’s Cottage is situated on an ‘Access only’ street just off the High Street. It is a quiet back water just a few metres from the ‘Town Trail’. Only a short walk to the Market Place, Museum Art Gallery, Pavilion Gardens, Opera House and main shopping area where there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and takeaways to choose from. Close by is Poole’s Cavern and Solomon’s Temple situated in Grin Low Country Park. The whole area is surrounded by the beautiful Peak District countryside with Bakewell, Castleton, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park all within a short car or bus journey. Buxton has its own railway station and is well served by buses to Manchester Airport and out into the countryside. The cottage has private parking for at least 2 cars and outdoor seating to enjoy a BBQ or relaxed drink. Inside the cottage there is an open fire for cosy nights in on cooler evenings.

From the A515 Ashbourne, take the second left at Fiveways traffic lights on to West Rd. Then after 200 yards turn right onto Church Street.

From A6 Bakewell, go left at Morrisons roundabout and then straight over at Fiveways traffic lights. From A6 Manchester, go left at the first roundabout and right at the second then straight over at Fiveways traffic lights. Then follow directions above.

From A53/ A54/ A537 head into Buxton and then fork right at traffic lights on to Macclesfield Road. Church Street is the last road on the left before Fiveways traffic lights.
